Shield anchors are a very popular and widely used expansion anchor for use into masonry. They have a three-piece segmented body which is held together by a split ring, which then expands when the fastener is tightened and pulls the expansion cone back into the body of the sleeve. There are two main options with shield anchors - loose bolt & projecting bolt. Loose bolt shield anchors come supplied with 8.8 high tensile hexagon head set screws, and projecting bolt shield anchors come supplied with 5.8 mild steel stud.
